As General Partner leading Centennial State Capital, Mark has completed nearly $300,000,000 of Core and Value-Add transactions across the Southwest, Mountain Region and Southeast. Previously, he was the Head of Private Equity at Avanti Residential, where he was involved in the execution of over $400m of acquisitions in key markets including Denver, Phoenix, Kansas City, Palm Beach, Tampa, and Miami.
With over 18 years of experience in Capital Markets, Mark has held prominent roles at leading investment banks such as Citigroup, Credit Suisse, and Barclays. His career highlights include leading a New York-based Hedge Fund team at Citigroup, heading the Capital Markets Equity Sales team at Barclays, and serving as Executive VP and Head of Equity, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Currency Sales and Trading at a boutique investment bank. Throughout his career, Mark has facilitated hundreds of equity financing deals for some of Wall Street's largest public companies.
In 2010, Mark founded Solo Oak LLC, a real estate investment company. As CEO, he built a thriving Florida real estate portfolio, focusing on single-family homes and land development. His real estate expertise extends to Wall Street, where he played a leading role in securing equity financing for major public market REITs.
Mark played collegiate golf at the University of Illinois, where he was an Academic All-American and an All Big-10 Academic award winner. He also played professional golf on the South American and Canadian PGA Tours, with a PGA Tour appearance in 2000. Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois and a Master’s in Real Estate from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business. He currently resides in Colorado with his wife, a USPTA-certified tennis professional, their three-year-old daughter, and their dog, Vail.
Jeff Hawks has over 50 years of experience specializing in brokerage, acquisition, and disposition of multifamily real estate investments. In 2005, Jeff co-founded Capital Real Estate, a Denver based multifamily investment company. Capital Real Estate has raised over $250 million of equity for the acquisition of multifamily assets. Jeff and his partners have successfully acquired more than $1 billion of real estate investment properties. He is currently part owner of more than 30 multifamily assets with more than 7,000 apartment units in three states.
In 2002, Jeff, alongside his partners, built a successful multifamily real estate brokerage firm that they sold in 2014 to a NY based publicly traded financial company. Jeff has sold more Colorado apartments than any other broker in Colorado history, having brokered the sale of more than $10 billion in multifamily properties. He has been named the top multifamily broker in Colorado more than 20 times, was the NAIOP broker of the year twice, was presented the Lifetime Achievement award by the Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors and was inducted into the Apartment Association of Metro Denver’s Hall of Fame.
Jeff and Cinnamon, his wife of 44 years, reside in Colorado, Rhode Island and Arizona. They spend their time with their children and grandchildren. In addition to real estate, they continue to focus their efforts on charity and the development of sober living communities.
Timothy P. Cwick joined Brotschul Potts LLC as an attorney in 2021. Tim is responsible for counseling real estate owners, developers, investors and lenders in the structuring and closing of complex commercial real estate and financing matters. Tim applies his vast transactional experience to provide his clients with practical counsel on a wide variety of real estate, finance, and corporate matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Tim spent eight (8) years as the General Counsel to a vertically integrated, mixed-use and multifamily real estate development company with a portfolio market capitalization over $1 billion. As General Counsel, Tim provided effective counsel at each phase of the development process from acquisition, capitalization, entitlement, construction, lease-up and stabilization of each asset. Tim was responsible for leading the commercial transactions team on all secured financing matters and equity capitalizations. During his tenure as the sole General Counsel, Tim successfully completed and closed over $850 million in debt and equity financing for the acquisition, rehabilitation and development of both mixed-use and multifamily buildings throughout the United States. Tim was also responsible for providing various legal solutions and strategies for the affiliated construction, asset management and property management entities.
Tim earned his Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, where he graduated in the top twenty-five percent of his graduating class. While at Charleston School of Law, Tim was the recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing (White Collar Crime) and a member of the Dean’s List.
Tim holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Clemson University in Clemson, SC.
Ryan Potts is a co-owner and partner of Brotschul Potts LLC, which he founded alongside Matthew Brotschul in 2007. With more than 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, Ryan specializes in banking law, work-outs, private placements, real estate and business transactions, small business consulting, and civil and commercial litigation.
Ryan obtained his Juris Doctor from DePaul University in Chicago and is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Throughout Ryan’s career he has accumulated numerous honors including being named in Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s “40 Lawyers Under 40 to Watch in Illinois” and receiving the 2005 Illinois Trial Lawyers Association William J. Harte Amicus Volunteer Award. He has authored numerous papers and briefs which were published in the Illinois Bar Journal and the DCBA Brief. A member of the Illinois State Bar Association and former member of the Glen Ellyn Plan Commission and Chicago 2016 Legal Committee, Ryan is also actively involved in numerous professional organizations including the Western Golf Association, Chicago Charity Clays and the Academy of Country Music.
While devoting his career to the law, Ryan’s interests also lie in everything from real estate, politics and business to golf, the U of I and country music. He is an avid golfer, being a former member of the University of Illinois Varsity Golf Team, and is also a business investor, notably acting as co-owner of Joes Live LLC, a music and concert promotion company specializing in country music concert promotion, booking, talent procurement and consultation. He is also the proud father of three daughters, Avery, Kara and Tessa and lives with his wife, Alison, in the western suburbs of Chicago.
